Soyoung Park is an artist working at the intersection of interactive and fine arts. Soyoung enjoys bringing media such as watercolor painting and ceramics together with various computer technologies to create installations and sculptures that engage viewers in an experience that goes beyond what would otherwise be conventionally possible. While barely noticeable in her creations, electronics are applied by Soyoung in order to bring an active and reactive dimension to her artwork. Her motto “90% art + 10% technology” highlights her creative vision, which endeavors to take artcraft and technology far beyond the a sum of their parts.
Since childhood Soyoung has enjoyed drawing and making things. She studied Ceramic and Glass Art at Hongik University in Seoul, Korea and more recently completed her master’s degree at the Interactive Telecommunications Program(ITP), Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.
